Jesus Predicts His Death and Resurrection
They were in the way
Go-ing up to Je-ru-sa-lem.
Je-sus went be-fore them.
The dis-ci-ples were a-mazed.
And as they fol-lowed, they were a-fraid.
Then Je-sus took the twelve dis-ci-ples a-side,
And be-gan to tell them the things
That would hap-pen to Him: Say-ing,
“Be-hold, we go up to Je-ru-sa-lem;
All things that are writ-ten by the proph-ets
Con-cern-ing the Son of Man will be ac-com-plished.
The Son of Man must suf-fer man-y things,
He shall be de-liv-ered
To the chief priests, and to the scribes;
They shall con-demn Him to death,
De-liv-er Him to the Gen-tiles:
And they shall mock Him,
and shall scourge Him,
and shall spit in His Face,
and shall kill Him:
and the third day He shall rise a-gain.”
But they un-der-stood none of these things.
This say-ing was hid-den from them,
That they did not know the things which were spo-ken.
